  Midnight here in colorado. Just laying in a nice warm bed with my wife next to me and drifting in and out of sleep as i listen. This is a good night and things are going really well. My family is healthy and happy. Im grateful for everyone and am genuinely happy. I hope everyone who reads this the same happiness.

  Looking at how fast literacy has been disappearing in my lifetime makes it easy to see what happens in &quot;dark ages&quot;.

  I was a manager in retail and over the past 2 years I have had MANY kids between 10-16ish that can&apos;t count change. Some of them couldn&apos;t tell the difference between coin denominations. They have always done everything digitally. The same for &nbsp;kids under 20 being unable to read an analogue clock. I cant tell you how many young kids Ive hired that Ive taught how to tell time.

  Fell asleep to this in on Friday night in London, England, and woke up at 5am for a pee. Almost 7am now and i will be getting dressed to attend the &nbsp;funeral of my friends father who sadly passed away in his early 70s. Impermanence is such a symbolic principle and yet, I feel connected to all the people commenting here, sharing a glimpse of their lives—though it is unlikely we will ever meet. Perhaps we are all &nbsp;connected beyond time and space, beyond words or touch. I&apos;d like to believe that.

  I’m a cell tower climber worked from 0530-0030..it’s now 0213 and I have to be up again for work in 4 hours….its been a long hard life. I’m 38

  Central coastal Japan and its time to turn off my light. &nbsp;Mid February and we are now in the quiet time of the year before the blossoms open in full, and the nights are still cold, clear and dry. &nbsp; It feels like our lives and the stability most of us have enjoyed and thrived on are on a tight rope now. But so it goes through our eons on this planet. &nbsp;<br>I’m afraid it’s our ego and our greed that is to blame for this. <br>But for tonight, and hopefully tomorrow it’s warm and peaceful here and I’ll walk 90 minutes each way to work along the canal and take in the sunshine and bird sounds. Life is good on earth…. It’s just fleeting. <br>Goodnight all, &nbsp;look up at the stars and be thankful for your consciousness and forget our troubles.

  Can we be honest about the dark ages? The Greeks and Romans really did have amazing roads, buildings, aqueducts, sewers, and writings. The people in western Europe in the 600s made far inferior and less of all those things. They were barely scraping by and so it is a good expression “dark age” because it’s an age about which we can see very little because they left very little relative to the light age of classical civilization. It’s not a criticism of people in the 600s, in fact, they were commendable in their survival. They were handed darkness and put as much light into it as they could and after 500 years their descendants were building great Cathedrals and nations.
