I was going to counter this but then found out it is AI slop. The strings that sound and play right to you are the best strings to buy.

I use Rotosound, electric and acoustic. I've used all the others , and after playing for 62years, and still giging, pop and rock. I am happy to buy British, and enjoy changing strings and having that fresh sound and feel.

A few years ago, I bought a couple of sets of Flatwounds to put on a hollow body with Filter Trons. My G&L ASAT Classic was out on a stand when the strings arrived. On a whim, I put a set of the Flatwounds on it, and like them so much, I put the other set on my G&L Legacy Strat.

I ordered more Flatwounds, and put them on the the first guitar they were intended for, as well as a hollow body with Humbuckers. Clean or high gain, I like what I am getting from them. After a couple of years, I went back to Roundwounds on the Strat.

I buy whatever I can get closest to $3 a set that is on sale. I have 35 Guitars and I rotate most of them a to play live and record. All my sale strings have been great, Dunlop were my favorite for a while but they’ve all been good. My favorites are the EB Cobalt. I went to Europe for a tour and could only bring one guitar so I wanted strings that I knew were better than my sale strings, I took a chance on the cobalt and I was not let down. I did 10 shows on one set of strings and they still felt great. They feel a little different than normal strings and I’m sure they sound a little different but I have all the confidence in them that they won’t break easily. Some of the cheaper ones will give out within a couple of practices, but I usually change them out to Ernie balls when I play live.

I've been using the Ernie Ball and D'addario nickel coated for years with success. 8s are my preference on all of my electrics with the action set up for them.

D’Addario has been my go-to string for 30 years. I used Dean Markley, ghs, DR, Fender, Gibson, Ernie Ball and several others.
They all have their advantages.

One of the most important aspects of guitar strings was ignored in this video, and that is round core vs hex core. I use pure nickel ROUND CORE strings, or sometimes nickel coated steel ROUND CORE strings. Round core strings are more flexible and feel better bending, plus they last longer since there is no space between the core and the winding to accumulate gunk, while on a hex core there are spaces between the winding and core as you can visualize - that accumulates gunk deadening the tone eventually. Another issue not discussed is steel quality. Most brands have a premium strings that cost twice as much, because they use better quality steel, for instance the D'Addario "NYXL", while Pyramid and Stringjoy use better quality steel in all their strings. This results in a better feeling, better sounding string that lasts much longer, and stays in tune better. When you stretch the new strings you'll notice it takes considerable stretching before regular D'Addario or Ernie Ball slinky strings to stay in tune, while the better quality steel strings like Stringjoy uses stretch very little, and then stay in tune better after being stretched, that is a HUGE improvement. Even though I'm just a home noodle, I appreciate the better tone and feel the Stingjoy Broadway sets have, which are pure nickel wound on a round core, plus they last 2-3x longer, in face I virtually never change them - they never seem to lose their tone. JD Simo is a musician who uses Stringjoy Broadway strings too, so don't take my word for it - he is a tone freak's guru!
