  I play Ernie Ball Slinks because they’ve served me well for 45 years. Longer than most of you have been alive. 😂

  I've used Slinky 10-46 on All of my guitars for over forty years. They're actually, brutally, some of the best strings ever made.

  I changed from D'Addario to Ernie Ball about 5 years ago and I have never regretted it. Skinny top/Heavy Bottom 10-52. This video is informative but at the end of the day, we guitarists prefer the strings that sound great to our ears and make us feel good when we play. Chug on.🤟

  I’ve experimented with different manufacturers, different gauges, coated and un coated strings. Ultimately, I landed on the Ernie Ball Cobalt Not Even Slinky as my preferred strings, tuning to C# standard on the 24.75 scale length. They’re comfortable to play and with a little TLC last pretty well..

  I here you. &nbsp;I have used D&apos;Addario for many years on all my electrics and never once questioned that until now. &nbsp;You made some valid points and made me think &nbsp;alot about my string usage. &nbsp; I&apos;ve never really questioned this before. &nbsp;I will now.

  It depends. I&apos;ve got more than a few guitars. The onces I don&apos;t play often.. always Elixer or D&apos;Addario coated.<br>My Martin that i use a lot does imho sound like a martin with Retro Monel, who I buy in a 3 or 5 package with discount. Not found something equal with coating.<br> I change them as 10 times a year or so.. That costs me 75bucks a year. Equal to 2 sets Elixer Nanoweb what otherwise I would spend.<br>And I&apos;m not afraid to experiment.

  Ernie 9-42 for me. I have tried the higher rated and more expensive types. I really can’t tell any difference. I have played guitar since 1969. &nbsp;I played 10-46 until about 10 years ago. I also love EBMM guitars, and have 8 of them, as well as other brands. When I play live, if I break a string, I switch guitars.

  I actually did compare EB Slinkies and chose them. I went through this whole gauntlet trying to figure it out, and it was EB 9 gauge. They just meet all of my needs.

  I generally choose my strings based on a longevity, feel, and tone balance. It’s a search for the sweet spot. As long as you’re getting the tone and feel you want without breaking the bank you’ve probably found it. There was some pretty good detail information on string composition in this video.
