Ken Miles was as much a designer and builder as Shelby himself, and his relentless testing and continuous feedback helped with the success of beating Ferrari as much as his ability to drive the new design over the limits without blowing it up.

Carroll Shelby's success was due to several people, and his legacy was built by friendships and remarkable teamwork.

Shelby’s original location in Venice, California was not Dean Moons, although the first installation in America of a V8 in a Cobra was at Moon’s shop. it was Lance Reventlows shop that Shelby took over when Lance got out of racing. Phil Remmington always remarked that as one of Shelby‘s first employees he came along with the building. also, I believe it was the first 39 cobras had the 260 V8 before the 289 hipo was available. interestingly, although the 427SC cobra body style is the most popular, all the championships and most of the races were won by 289 powered roadsters and Daytona coupes.

This never mentioned the big Shelby shop at LAX in an old airplane hanger on Imperial Hwy. They built a lot of the Mustangs there.

The AC Ace is almost identical to Carroll Shelby's infamous Cobra model line.

Miles was more like Shelby's Best Friend, & it's weird how you call Shelby American a disaster, & yet they're still making Cars. Ever heard of the Super Snake? Scrap the BOT, grow a pair & SPEAK INTO A MIC!!

Just remember something. 1967 was the last year for emissions free engines in all vehicles in the United States. 1968 saw the use of smog pump. And I don't really think that Carroll Shelby wanted smog pumps on any car that he put his name on. At not in the 1960s he definitely didn't

REALLY wish that Carroll Shelby would have touched the Mercury side of the aisle. Maybe then Ford would have left him alone. Very curious if he even contemplated touching Cougars. 1969 Cougar XR7 428CJ Dark Ivy Metallic here. What if???
