I was about to place an amazon order for a bunch of books the other day and instead got in my car and went and joined the library. So much better!

My idea of retirement is relaxing with my dogs, watching Youtube, exercising, and eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

All i can say to those who are struggling to get over that financial hump is to please keep learning something new everyday and to keep visualizing what you want. One day, you'll wake up and you'll immediately know how to think and move like the person you need to be in order to reach that point. Work hard on yourself first. Eat better, sleep better, cut out bad habits and distractions. Focus on what you know you gotta do for atleast 1-2 hours a day, journal, then go work on yourself. Get a good workout in, read, do a favorite hobby, but the one thing you cannot do is nothing!!! Don't wait for something to happen or hope for some spark of motivation. If you really want it, you'll get it.

The first rule about becoming a millionaire is to not tell anyone that you're a millionaire.... unless you're a millionaire in YouTube subscribers count.

You nailed it. The wife and I are very practical, meaning we strive for the most bang for the buck. We buy quality vehicles, but always used and they often last us 10 - 15 years, sometimes longer. We have no debt, no mortgage, when we used to work we maxed out our 401k's, created ROTH's and have been investing in the market for about 40 years. While it was great to be debt and mortgage free early on in our lives, it was even more exciting when our return on investments exceeded our already high wages. Something just mentally changes when you realize you don't have to work.

I really like how you talk about financial freedom without making it sound unrealistic or performative. Feels way more grounded and honest compared to most content in this space.
