  I dont know why, but the old school way of a whiteboard and markers simply sticks information in my brain WAAAYY better than newer fancy illustrations !!! you can tell a good teacher when he can go on to explain the whole concept easily without any cuts and edits ... great job !!

  Zac, thanks a lot for the amazing lecture.<br>A note to add there are new drugs that are FDA approved for treatment of both Hereditary (Familial) and Senile (Wild Type) aTTR like Vutrisiran which expands the treatment of mainly the Familial type to more than just liver transplantation.<br>Vutrisiran is also called aTTR silencer because it silences the mutated gene in the liver responsible for producing mutated, abnormal aTTR.

  Thank you for doing this subject. My brother-in-law was diagnosed with AL amylodosis about 10 years ago and because it is considered rare it took over a year to get that diagnosis. He was on deaths door and had gone to all the top cardiologists in LA and they just said it&apos;s probably a virus because we don&apos;t know what it is. Finally he ended up at the Mayo clinic where he was properly diagnosed and referred to a hemotologsit familiar with the disease. He was in the hospital 5 months on an ECHO machine and ended up with a heart and kidney transplant after receiving Chemo (Velcaid). Eventually he got a stem cell transplant. I was very upset that he wasn&apos;t diagnosed sooner he was only early 50&apos;s at the time. He did have carpul tunnel syndrome both hands. Then recently my older sister was diagnosed (again took over a year to get it diagnosed) with Waldenstrom which in turn is giving her amylodosis. Her main symptom was brusing on her hands. She even went to Standford to see a hemotologist and they told her it was purpura and I mentioned possibley amylodosis so they said probably not but took a tissue sample and thankfully was finally diagnosed. My mother currently has MGUS so that is concerning. At a amylodosis support group at Cedars hospital in LA I met a patient who had the enlarged tongue and he was in his early 50&apos;s with a family and a business, he arrived at the meeting in a wheel chair.

  This was a tough one to get through. My grandpa passed from AL amyloidosis and Multiple myeloma.
