I&apos;m not exaggerating when I say this might be the single tightest script ever written.<br><br>Every SINGLE line, gag or visual is either a callback, call-forward, reference or easter egg. It&apos;s the perfect comedy script. Not to mention the cast. It&apos;s an absolute tour-de-force of british comedy.<br><br>Down to the ginger kid at the end being called Aaron Aaranson, calling back to one of the detectives joking about going through the whole phone-book. It&apos;s the kind of film you can watch ten times and still pick up new stuff.<br><br>Great reaction.

When Skinner reloads his pistol at the end, he does it with a heel of his hand, as he did in the James Bond films, which is nice.

Father Christmas who stabs him in the hand is a cameo appearance from Peter Jackson, director of LOTR.

One thing that I wouldn’t expect any non-Brits to pick up on. The code for the evidence room is 999, which is the UK emergency number, equivalent to 911 in the US.

I can never get enough of the absolute glee with which Timothy Dalton delivers every line in this movie. He had such a blast he went to set on days he wasn&apos;t needed to keep up with what they were doing.

Simon Skinner was played by Timothy Dalton, and Simon Pegg said in an interview that it was a thrill to exchange gunfire and win a fight with a former James Bond.

This movie is so brilliant on so many different levels. Not just funny, a great crime story, and great cinematography, also pretty accurate about actual police work.

You need to finish the trilogy with “The World’s End”. It’s for the greater good.

Olivia Coleman cracks me up in this, so funny! She was in a long running sitcom called &apos;Peep Show&apos; which was amazing, one of my top ten all-time British sitcoms, I think people who love this film tend to love that series too.

One of the early lines that gets called back, and a lot of commenters miss, is one of the Andys telling Angel, &quot; You wanna be a big cop in a small town? Fuck off up the model village.&quot;<br>Then, the climax of the movie takes place in the model village.
