This is what happens when source material is respected at the highest level and follow-through.

It is always and forever David Suchet's voice as Poirot in my head when I read one of the books.

David Suchet, Peter Falk, and Angela Lansbury are all top tier in my mind for their respective character portrayals

I remeber an interview in which Suchet explained that he strived not to overdo the funny side of Poirot: to make him "amusant", but not ridiculous.
Maybe it's the key. I laughed at the little moustached man when he gingerly seated himself on a camp bed - it was priceless!🤣 - but in the next quarter of an hour admired his cunning and even his heroic side.

Bravo, bravissimo, bravo, Monsieur Suchet! My deepest gratitude for your work.

A touching and clearly frustrated love letter both to what David achieved and what the genre seems to have lost.

He was top tier casting. So good that I see him now in my mind when I read the books.

I have not watched Poirot in a while and it strikes me how well dressed the cast in the show is now that I watch this video. It is truly insane how well somebody can look in a good, tailored suit and a coat.

Suchet's Poirot simply makes me happy. It's something like comfort food, and one of the few tv shows I can watch repeatedly, without loosing my patience with it. Supreme craft, and always the small details, providing the whole range of feelings.
