Gene Wilder is the true Willy Wonka! The children weren’t allowed to see the Chocolate Room before filming the scene so their reaction to seeing the set for the first time is genuine. RIP Gene Wilder

The kid that plays “Charlie” would later become a veterinarian, this is the only movie he would act in.

Gene Wilder made Willy Wonka come to life with his portrayal. The girl that played the gum chewing blueberry unfortunately passed away just a few years ago.

Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory focuses on Charlie Bucket while Charlie and the Chocolate Factory focuses on Willy Wonka.

This movie is the very first thing I remember having nightmares about as a child: dreams about the orange Oompa Loompas singing chastising songs at me for misbehaving!

I knew the ladies would love this movie.  They still have young hearts, and I hope they are able to keep that as long as possible.

Fun Fact: the chocolate river actually had milk and cream in it to give it the right consistency.  After a couple days of shooting it had spoiled and smelled terrible.
