Why do we menstruate, and why do we experience menstrual cramps? From the misconceptions surrounding the 28-day menstrual cycle to the evolution of menstruation, we explore these topics based on relevant research. Beyond the explanation that the endometrium sheds if pregnancy does not occur, we examine why the bodies of some mammals prepare and shed their endometrium in advance. Unravel the reasons for menstruation and your questions about the female body through science. Questions covered in this video: • Why does menstruation occur only in some mammals? • Why is the endometrium prepared before the embryo arrives? • Why do menstrual cramps occur, and why are they so painful? • Does everyone's menstrual cycle have to be 28 days? • Is it true that menstrual cycles synchronize when living together?
