✨ Happy Sunday everyone! (Unless you're part of the “secret skinny society” — then it’s judgment day fr💅) ✨Y'all I got deep into a rabbit hole of something called "skinnytok" on tiktok and just how CRAZY IT IS??? Literally people encouraging each other to have a "skinny mindset" and to undereat..seems familiar doesn't it? And their main idol of skinnytok Liv Schmidt charging people $150,000 to join a "secret skinny society" cult on instagram, where she encourages under eating, tells people to compete in workout challenges and some members were even as young as being in high school? Literally why is no one talking about this? Worst part is if you call out skinnytok and their toxic behaviour, they attack your looks, weight and character or tell you "you don't get it" or "we're being oppressed" or " we love Liv and she saved our lives!" like...it's literally a cult at this point. “If it’s striking a nerve maybe this is your indicator” No, it’s striking a nerve because it sounds like the anorexia that nearly killed me. It is life changing but not in the way they say, I have irreversible health problems as a 26 year old. I hope these poor women can find the peace & acceptance recovery has brought me

the only difference between this and edtwt/tumblr is instead of hiding behind a hello kitty pfp and aesthetic banner/layout, they're doing this on their personal accounts with their full government name and identity... 😭

In my culture (Caribbean decent) being skinny is associated with being poor. If you have curves, you are considered to be beautiful and healthy. Whenever any of my skinny friends would come to my house, my parents would shove food at them, and then ask me if their families are doing ok. Either side is kind of toxic. Just enjoy what you like, and if you feel unhealthy, try to change what youre doing. ❤

The “Pilates instructor” isn’t actually an instructor. She’s just taking the class. Her instructor was bigger and she was just complaining because idk she dumb. Also she got kicked from her class and gym. And fired (she was a dentist assistant)so yay. I’m very chronically online

In the 90s it was heroine chic. 2000s it was low rise jeans and eating disorders. In the teens it was tumblr pro ana pages. Now it’s TikTok. It just evolves.
