Spare a thought for the folks who laid down all those chain link guard rails in the first place.

These trails and conditions sound potentially dangerous enough without douche bags on the trail. Ugh.

Shocking disregard for other's safety, arrogance, and selfishness.

Imagine telling their parents what happened - your child died because they were stupid.

Two bullies. But the mountain held them accountable.

The thought of hiking 🥾 anywhere in triple digit heat makes me ill. A hike in July? To Angel's Landing, Half Dome, the Grand Canyon? No way! People are so stupid.

This is the first thing I thought of when I first saw how crowded that narrow trail was. I knew I could never trust strangers not to make unexpected moves as often happens in crowds.

Heat injuries sneak up slowly, warning you if you pay attention, and then suddenly knock you in the dirt. I was 17 and in the army, out in the fields of Ft Riley, KS mid-August with 105 degree with 85% humidity. We were in the middle of a 6 week training exercise digging foxholes in the sun. No shade anywhere around. I'm from Kansas and didn't give it a second thought. I should have. Around 3:00 I began to get a headache. By 4:00 I was hot, dry, red-skinned, and hot to the touch. I hadn't noticed anything till it was too late. My SGT saw me, recognized what was happening and had me lowered down a steep embankment to Wildcat Creek and dropped me in. Saved my life.

I'm an Englishman who hiked up Angel's Landing in 1978 and it was nothing like what I'm seeing here. I encountered very few people on the trail. As I recall I felt alone for most of the way. I'm so glad that I experienced it back then and all of the trails that I hiked when I toured the western states all the way up to Alaska. I'm still quite fit at nearly 73 but there's no way that I would hike that trail again if it's usually that crowded.

Sounds like unintentional self imposed poetic justice to me! It's just so perfect I can't help but think that Fate chuckled and flipped them off

Very glad that the hikers they shoved past survived with minor, albeit painful injuries. Not sorry at all that this selfish, self-important couple died.

I can not think of a single good reason for me to have ever even considered going on that type of hike.
