  I love the idea of Umuruk specifically.<br><br>They feel so human in their behavior and their attempts to distance themselves from their primitive cousins the same way humans try not to be looped in with other primates despite being a part of their family<br><br>I imagine in lore an Umuruk would be offended being referred as an orc or goblin. The same way we humans would hate being called an ape or monkey.<br><br>Though technically an accurate description humans and Umuruk feel to prideful to be associated with their cousins feeling that their intelligence, honor and dignity is enough to be considered different from them.<br><br>Essentially they have the strength, blood, and bodys of orcs but the pride and shame of humans.<br><br>I like that it makes orcs actually feel like their own speices instead of humans but more bulky and feral.

  Elves using the word Orc as a slur is such an elf thing to do lol, I can&apos;t wait for more exploration of what orcs can be since they are a relatively young race used in fiction compared to ogres, trolls, and goblins

  Bruh I have been called beastly, creepy, monstrous, barbaric, and savage my whole life for the simple fact i come from a rural mountain town where hunting is common and I don&apos;t really care for cities. Orcs/Orks have always been relatable to me as have most traditional &quot;barbaric&quot; races in media. Found more in common with them than the city dwelling &quot;civilized&quot; races in media. Love these dudes, can&apos;t wait to see more.

  I love how it&apos;s a mix of realistic evolution/adaptation science fiction while also being fantastical and true to classical medieval fantasy settings while not leaning too far into one direction.

  i love seeing different twists on stock fantasy races; orcs in my own setting aren&apos;t a distinct species, but a condition—fays corrupted by excess magic and driven insane, and one of the symptoms of magical corruption is an unquenchable hunger which leads to cannibalism. so rather than being monsters just because they&apos;re an &apos;evil race,&apos; they&apos;re more tragic monsters usually because of hubris and greed.<br><br>and to add onto this, fays take the place of high elves in my setting, while the term &apos;elves&apos; refers to half-human offspring of fays. there&apos;s more an emphasis on fays being alien creatures from another dimension, and there&apos;s a lot of Germanic and Celtic folkloric inspiration as well.
