Thank you thank you thank you. I have had years of a similar journey and finally feel great. It is so sad that we have to go back again and again to the gp's etc and have years of struggling. I realised that if I wanted help I needed to research what I needed and then go to the doctors and basically tell them what I needed.I also change my diet and lifestyle. No caffeine, alcohol and sugar, this stopped all my joint pain and brain fog. We need to keep talking about this. x

Hi everyone, I am so grateful for these chats. Honestly information is power. It’s so inspiring to talk about this so openly. I do so with my 3 daughters and how important it is to listen to your body. I’m so lucky that my GP was super helpful and informed. I was put on HRT at around 47 and took a year to find what was right for me. The mirena coil and patches. With testosterone gel once a week. I’m very lucky to have this GP. I feel sorry for my mums generation due to lack of knowledge, I believe it partly contributed to her sadly fatal heart attack, age 57. Thank you SO much for these discussions and information DR Naomi and your guests. Plus on a separate note I lost 7 stone on GLP 1’s, Over 3 years which has improved my overall health considerably and my visceral fat is 1, I still get anxiety that I’ve always had but I feel it’s under control at the moment. Xx

Naomi and Lisa this podcast has been so incredibly helpful. I feel broken despite being on HRT. I have worked in Education for 20 years and I quit teaching 2 years after surgical menopause. I am a single parent and really struggling. I am just about coping with supply teaching, but the financial impact of surgical menopause has been massive. For the last 20 months I have been strength training which has helped, I rarely drink alcohol, I drink one or two coffees a day maximum. Eat healthy, one ingredient food and cook at home. But I am still struggling with all the symptoms Lisa described and Kate Lawless & Kate Silverstone. Thank you for making me feel like I am not alone and not completely crazy.

Thank you so much, Lisa and Dr Naomi Potter, for this brilliant interview. You are literally describing my life. It's incredibly reassuring to know that someone else has been through the same experiences and that it's not just me.

Listening to Lisa was like having my last 10 years described to me. I am the same age and now realise why in my forties I was so nervous, had panic attacks and was depressed. I was prescribed beta blockers!
So snap, snap and more snap. Thank you for talking about it. My journey with HRT is evolving and getting back on track now.

I'm 59, and there was NOTHING out there to help me at the time I went through menopause. I didn't know what it was I was going through or what to do. I thought I was going mad! I didn't know that we have estrogen receptors all over the body, including the brain. It's not just a sex hormone. It seems the medical industry is a male hierarchy that thinks we are only useful for sex and having children. After that, we are just ready for the bonfire. I lost my job because I couldn't function anymore, and managers weren't sympathetic. No wonder so many women "un-alive" themselves at this point in life.
I just want to know how you are both able to grow your hair? My hair loss has really affected my confidence, as the hairstyles that are now open to me are so frumpy! I don't suit a fringe and yet my hair won't grow long at the front anymore. I have an LED helmet from I-restore, hair oils, SLS-free shampoos, eat a lot of protein and also take collagen and yet nothing is working. I also tried minoxidil, but my hair started to break off as it completely dries the hair out (kind of defeats the object!). I'm also on HRT. I guess my frontal hair loss must be hereditary. I often wonder if I had taken supplements, protein, collagen and HRT sooner, if I could have preserved my hair?

Anti depressants helped me a lot with anxiety and hot flushes for some reason. They worked for me quite quickly. Then I got HRT a while later
