The problem with a wife with perimenopause and rage and anxiety is that she believes her thoughts to be true. She does not think "maybe my anger about my husband's snoring is perimenopause?", she simply thinks he's a jerk for snoring. All conversations about perimenopause have this subtle assumption that the woman can rationalize her perimenopausal feelings from non perimenopausal feelings.

As a husband, I am very lonely during this stage of the relationship. She likes to be alone in her room and I sit by myself watching TV. Anytime I ask, do you want to do something fun or together? She says no. Her tone with the kids is very different than woth me. We both work 40 hrs and have two teens. Great information though. Smething should give. Thank you.

From a husband standpoint... this was extremely helpful and I hope you continue sharing with more men about this issue because most of us are clueless and this was very knowledgeable insight which helped me see more angles of working through our relationship... putting feelings and thoughts into words to discuss with each other is sometimes hard but you make it easier to process and make into conversation... thank you

Can we please, for just 5 minutes, stop this narrative of victimhood. I loathe and despise and loathe and despise x infinity.❤

Interesting she specifically mentioned a long suffering female but not a husband being blindsided by shitty behavior and no communication. The indoctrination runs so deep they can’t even see it.

But kudos for saying that a woman is apt to blame her “partner” when she inexplicably feels anger, anxiety, and sadness.

Can't believe there isn't more dialogue on this topic. I've been researching this topic lately with my older sister's latest (turned 50 years old a couple of months ago) "episode" (e.g. missed her "period" 1 1/2 months ago; more fighting with her husband, which has caused some legal issues that I can't share specifically right now; bi-polar symptoms rising , stressed out after a recent new adoption about the same time; etc..)...how long will these "menopause symptoms" go? It's been over 1 1/2 months now (some good days at times) ? I've been encouraging my sister exercise and nutrition eating too.

That’s great, but what about my husband cheating on me with a married woman and then deleting our retirement account.

I’m curious how to navigate dating or new relationships, going through this as a single woman, and have struggled to even want to maintain connection with someone because it seems hopeless to try to communicate such an intimate matter with someone you’re just getting to know.

Went thru’ all this 13-14 years ago before I even knew there was a term called “Perimenopause “.

Marriage was already rocky - slowly disintegrating over many years- so Perimenopause was another weight on top.

Separated, divorced, and he’s still a friend.

After I learned what I learned 11 or so years ago about hormones, effects, stages of life, etc., I went back and educated my ex husband and three kids so they had a better understanding what I was going thru’.

This was at a time when resources were very limited… so learning what I did back when, set the foundation for what is now being communicated in podcasts and social media. My base was solid before all the current folks came on board the Menopause train.

As for me… approaching 59 years young, post menopause since 52, and feeling great inside and out. 🎉❤
