I knew how to solve the problem, but it was interesting to see your step-by-step explanation. Several years ago, a fellow I knew who was taking a basic class at a community college brought me a similar problem and I wrote out the steps to solve it, right in front of him and thinking out loud. He said, "That's the right answer! How did you do that?" I was very annoyed and said, "I just showed you!"
