Their goal wasn’t to get the money back, but to force them out of the building they were living in. That’s why they imposed such ridiculously high interest rates and gave them an absurdly short repayment period. They deliberately made it impossible for them to pay, so they could evict them from the property they wanted.<br>They wanted those buildings because they planned to demolish them for a redevelopment project backed by a Korean assemblyman, who had asked them to forcibly clear everyone out of the area. That was the real objective.

Whether or not yall decide to watch season 1 on or offline, I’ll tune in. Season 2 is also amazing! Usually sequels don’t do as well but Netflix did a great job with casting & the storyline.
