I have never seen a reaction to Rocky where someone is so empathetic to Paulie. Most reactors hate him, and that's understandable given his behavior. His behavior is all symptomatic of his sad life and alcoholism and I always felt sorry for him too.

I love that Gazzo genuinely helps out Rocky, Paulie is actually abusive & Apollo is not a villain. like the characters have REAL flaws & real virtues. They are actually complex.

The fact that Stallone was homeless and even sold his dog to make ends meet before Rocky is hard to imagine now. Given the success of this movie. The studio even offered Stallone millions for his script but cast any other actor as Rocky Balboa, but Sly stuck to his guns and refused to make it unless he played Balboa

Most reactors don't trust Gazzo, but he really does care about Rocky and he's looking out for him.

Rocky isn't a boxing movie. The ring is just a metaphor. It's a movie about life, the opportunities, the setbacks, and perseverance and that's why a lot of people are uplifted and inspired by it.

You are one of the few people, who actually understand Mickey. He always cared about, and believed in Rocky as a fighter. But he hated Rocky's lifestyle choices.

I LOVE when people start the Rocky movies and realize it's a love story. Rocky and Adrian are among the absolute best couples in movie history.

Butkus was Stallone’s actual pet - the dog he sold when he was homeless and couldn’t afford to feed him, and bought back when he sold the screenplay for “Rocky”.

Burt Young, who plays Pauly, was a boxer in the Marine Corps, winning 32 of 34 fights. He later became a professional fighter & had a undefeated career.

"He's just taking those hits to the face!"

She just described the entire franchise in one sentence. 😂
