  Very touching interview. Mr. Sinise is such a down-to-earth, genuine human and obviously a loving dad. Grief is one of the most authentically human experiences we will all share at some point but I loved his perspective that we can hold onto the blessings and happy memories as much as we hold onto the pain. Thank you for that! <br>.

  This is heartbreaking. Mr. Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band came and did a free concert for us when I was stationed in Korea between deployments. The performance was really good and he was very personable. I will never forget it. Seeing him in this brought me right back to 2009. Thank you (and Anderson) for sharing this with the world. Hopefully we can use your experience to help us heal through our own losses.

  My dad died 15 years ago when I was 15. I still miss him every day and sometimes still cry for him. I cannot imagine the pain of losing a child. It must be the greatest sorrow a human can experience. Bless you Gary, chin up ❤

  I have Mac’s album. It’s wonderful. Thank you both for sharing the heartbreak of loss with us. Grief is such a strange country. There are no road maps in the land of grief, no directions “home”. 5 years into my grief journey, I have found that the depth, width and weight of my grief remains the same. To my surprise, my life that has grown bigger around it. I am ok with that. May everyone find their way in it and discover too that love never dies.
