put some sand and/or diatomaceous earth in your tires for their dust baths.. they'll love it. Also, if you don't take all the eggs, and you prepare a space for them to sit/lay eggs. they'll continue to use the same spot.. what i did was buy 3 ceramic eggs off ebay as i had 1 or 2 egg eaters.. and to stop that bad habit a ceramic egg is hard and hurts their beak when they try open it.. it had the added benefit of being the eggs i left in the space where i wanted them to lay.. if they see you picking up the eggs off the floor of the coop and placing them where you want them to lay.. you can coax them into laying where you want them too. place some hay/straw in the nest boxes.. .. just like the training them to sleep in the coop.. once they get accustomed and feel safe doing so.. they'll keep the habit. i started with the hay/straw (mowed, dried grass clippings) added to their nest boxes to get them comfortable laying there.. once they were , it's not necessary.

Using shade clothe is better and unlike a tarp it doesn’t cook them . And a tarp in high wind winds will rip off
