  I am 67 years old and I recently came upon your show and was hooked, but this is the first time I really felt compelled to comment, aI live in Philadelphia Pa. On the subject of reparations and who should get them, I have very strong feelings that both the diaspora and the continent are owed. I am only 2 generations from slavery. My great grandmother and grandfather were slaves (my father was 56 when I was born so I never got to meet them but I am reminded everyday what slavery took from my family alone. My family is so fragmented it makes me so angry because I have 2 children. So it not only affects me but it affects them as well. I recently did my dna because of this 30%Nigerian, 30%Ghanian, 20%Congolese 10% Ivorian and 10%English (I wonder where that comes from) I have been trying to trace my lineage for years, I can get no further than the plantation like most descendants of slaves. So the damage it has the done to the diaspora is devastating to say the least. I am hoping to go to Ghana in March 2027 if it is God’s will. Maybe some healing can take place, that is what I am praying for. I have learned so much from your show, thank you for doing what you do, it’s so important and you do it so well, if it’s anyone who can help bridge the gap between the diaspora and the continent, it will undoubtedly be you. I hope it happens in my lifetime!❤❤

  Today, our politicians continue to send us into slavery by creating chaos, corruption, disruption, instability an atmosphere where the people have no other choice than to voluntarily leave their country to go work for the same people who putted chains in the neck of our ancestors and forced them to leave the continent.<br><br>By examining the behaviors of what so called politicians today, I am 100% believe that Africans played a major role in the enslavement of our ancestors.<br><br>We are still killing the ones who ready to fight for us against the same system, something is wrong with a lot of Africans people.

  I&apos;m from Cameroon. My great great great father was a chief. There was a network of resistance against slave trade. When he refused to comply when coerced to allow the trade of his people he was doomed. They raided his village, raped his mother and the two other widows of his father. They raped his young pregnant wife before killing her. They decapitated his brothers and just imprisoned most young people in the village. &nbsp;The elderly were regrouped in a houses and burned alive. They left him as a broken man with his 4 year old son. My family carries the wounds of this horror. My people suffered from generational PTSD. When they come to colonise, they found soulless and traumatised and depopulate cities/ kingdoms. We have so many mental diseases in my family. <br><br>I will never forget and I will never forgive I feel deeply connected to my African- American and Caribbean families. <br><br>But i refuse to call it slavery: it is human traffic, it is the biggest holocaust, it is the greatest genocide, it is a crime against mankind.

  Savannah ga has the largest slave trade and a Nigerian prince olaudah equiano along with his sister where taken from Nugeria during the slave trade and brought there. He taught himself how to read and write and made a book called “the autobiography of olaudah equiano”

  Slavery doesn&apos;t have a linear narrative,but we surely know there is a big difference between indentured servitude vs European enslavement..
