  Nice to see this done on a RUBIK Pi 3 rather than a workstation — the &quot;small box that stays up while my laptop sleeps&quot; pattern is the one that actually gets used daily, and it&apos;s a different engineering problem from a demo.<br><br>Three things that decide whether a box like this survives past the first month, from running the same setup:<br><br>Power. These boards hang off an unglamorous USB-C PD supply, and the failure mode is an unplanned power cut mid-tool-call: half-written files, a corrupted SQLite state, occasionally a read-only rootfs on reboot. A small UPS (10-15 minutes is plenty), a journaled root, and a systemd unit with Restart=always do more for reliability than any model upgrade. Same for the supervisor — if the agent process dies at 3am, nothing brings it back unless something is explicitly told to.<br><br>Storage wear. A box that runs continuously writes constantly: logs, vector stores, checkpoints, browser profiles. On SD or eMMC that is a wear clock, and the symptom is usually a mystery read-only filesystem months later. Move logs and any embeddings to NVMe/USB SSD, cap their size, and keep root quiet.<br><br>Thermals and sizing. Fanless boards throttle under sustained load, which a six-minute video cannot show — cap the model and context so you stay inside the thermal envelope instead of bursting and clocking down. With 8-12 GB you are realistically running a small model for routing and summarising and sending the hard turns to the cloud, and being explicit about that split is more useful than trying to force everything local.<br><br>The test I would add: pull the power mid-task and see what happens on restart — does it resume, or re-run a file write or a web action it already did?
