Thank you for this video, am 67 , am extremely fortunate , grateful and blessed, as live in a village in South Warwickshire, and have an NHS dentist, and a super village Doctors, we have got hospitals in Warwick further in Coventry if we need, and have used both services in Coventry and Warwick and they are excellent, am so glad moved here seven years ago..

This video highlights the problem of statistics. Blackpool has for decades been a deprived town with a drug problem, with young people being attracted by seasonal work and a decaying town centre. A combination of relative poverty and lifestyle ( including drugs) inevitably reduces average life expectancy. These problems are not unique to Blackpool but the extent does present a distorted view of the town as a whole. On the plus side from a retirement point of view, those that haven’t taken drugs, lived a reasonable lifestyle and prepared for retirement benefit from lower than average living costs, including housing and areas which are popular by retirees, including from elsewhere and where there are a wide range of social activities for older people. In short, Blackpool has the same problems as the rest of the country but also has considerable advantages for retirees, not found in most other areas. The media like to point to Blackpool’s failings but it still attracts over 20 million visitors a year and many choose to retire to the areas well away from the centre.

I have been watching 'The Absolute Ranker' You Tube videos showing the worst places in Great Britain and all twelve of these locations feature in this video. Even Jaywick, an otherwise insignificant place in Essex, featured in 'The Absolute Ranker'. I have never been there but my cousin Linda, moved there from about 2010 until she died in 2021. She was only 67.

Jaywick beach is absolutely amazing ,,PURE SAND and ON A SUNNY DAY ,,one could be on the Florida coast one can walk out for 100 s of yards into the sea and the water just comes up to your waist and is really warm ...no mosque's,,,,no wailing prayers ,,,one day this will be the place to live ,,,

I could have named any of these places as a town I wouldn't visit on a bet ! No research required.. the one exception being Hastings, not sure if you were actually talking about Hastings or some nearby area .. referred to as somewhere 'North East' of the town. Sadly, there are many once hugely attractive towns along the south coast now being turned into squalid and often dangerous areas by drug addicted rough sleepers that present a threat to anyone walking the streets after dark. Devon and Cornwall are particularly under threat. It's killing the tourist industry and frightening off many who visit with a view to retiring in the area, needless to say, the High Street shops are among the major sufferers, more and more charity shops appearing.

Hartlepool doesn't suffer from employment deprivation. It suffers from people who are bone idle. My company has been on nabkevto recruit suitable people for years now. Nobody wants to work, they are happy in the dole and disability. Fckn disgraceful
