  I live on the Isle of Man and our main problem is house prices, they are far too high and none of the youth can afford to own a home so they move away.

  I'm a 72 year old Irish motorcyclist. I went & spectated at the IOM TT races every year from 1972 up until the late 1980's, sporadically in the 1990's/2000's, I was at the 2007 TT Race Centennial and a good number of Manx Grand Prix races /Classic races, the Southern 100 Races too, , but every year  there were less hotels, B&B's etc and the costs of ferries and accommodation  went out of reach of my budget, also the sailings to & from Dublin were never in line with " TT race week" often in order for Irish fans to spectate all of TT week, some would drive the length of Ireland to get ferries from Belfast (in the North of Ireland) or travel by ferry to the UK to get a ferry back to the Isle of Man.  So square seaside rock, vintage railways, Manx cats, Loaghtan sheep, the best ice-cream, scallops, kippers, lamb, and real ale in the World, are unfortunately for me just memories like the TT & MGP races I went to & enjoyed.

  I drove every single meter of every road there! I conducted telecommunications tests there for a company called Drivetest. It’s a beautiful place.

  I used to visit as a child. Now married and living in france thought I would bring my wife to visit for a week.. the cost of flights or ferry then car hire and hotel accommodation was just so expensive. So booked 3 weeks in the canaries for a lower price. Better value and weather

  I went there in May, so many For Sale signs on houses everywhere. The average property looked run down in need of repair. I went with a view to buy, but found it depressing so changed my mind.

  We did visit a few weeks ago, I wanted to re visit after I was there the same week as the fire. It was started deliberately!no accident and I fully explained this to summerland manager same week that if a fire started no one will escape as all fire escape doors were chained and LOCKED. After 53 years I was in tears looking at the concrete and wreaths against the cliff and I have tried numerous times to contact the people searching for justice but my email gets refused every time. <br>Regards the ferry,it was expensive for pedestrians and further more wet were put to additional expenses when it didn&apos;t turn up. They sent us to Liverpool from Heysham which only added to my sentiment reason for going there.<br>Like our railway, they just charge what they like.

  A lovely safe place to live and bring children up. Lovely people.....Lots of beautiful Glens and great walking paths and nice beaches. Its a far better place to live than some of the run down places in the UK. If you want more the UK is a short boat journey away. I think its a hidden gem.

  At 8 years old, I enjoyed my family holiday in Butlins near Douglas. We travelled down the hill from the camp on a single track &apos;railway&apos; to catch public transport to sightsee, etc. I liked the Isle of Man.

  I used to love the Islands &apos;Cycling&apos; week. Fond memories to both racing &amp; touring.
