  I have a much better than average system and have no interest in upgrading any time soon, but I still find myself more interested by budget oriented systems than super expensive ones because it&apos;s exciting to see how far things have come within the budget range that average people can afford and may actually spring for. You don&apos;t build the hobby and industry with a small number of super expensive speakers. ELAC, RSL, Polk, and some other genuinely affordable brands and product lines are no longer serving up garbage. Proper setup and room correction on these affordable products can really give a borderline reference experience at home. I&apos;m not jealous that people can get 85% of my system for 25% of the cost, it makes me happy that more people can enjoy content the way it was meant to be heard.

  I&apos;m actually a big fan of Jtr. &nbsp;It&apos;s the next level for bass. &nbsp;I bought an 18-inch subwoofer from Jeff. &nbsp;Great guy. &nbsp;Keep up the channel and information on new equipment.

  I have almost the same setup in 3.1. Elac unifi series UB52&apos;s, UC52, SVS SB 2000 pro, and Onkyo RZ50. I can&apos;t wait to upgrade to 5.1 with the floor standing UF52&apos;s and move my UB52&apos;s to surround. Great content as always, been binge watching your theatre showcases to get inspiration for my future dedicated home theatre!

  I&apos;ve been rocking 5.1 since I got into the hobby - and never found a need to go bigger, regardless of what room I was working with. <br><br>I had an Onkyo TX-SR605 powering my current system for years, and when it developed an HDMI out port issue, I replaced it with a Denon X2800 (there were a myriad of reasons for this, as I was a massive Onkyo fan for many years) but still powering the same five speakers (with the two surrounds in the ceiling). <br><br>There&apos;s something to be said about running five speakers on amps with provisions for many more - by not using all the channels, the power supply doesn&apos;t have to be taxed nearly as hard.<br><br>Here&apos;s the biggest bitch I have with Onkyo now: These newer models don&apos;t allow you to see the input name and sound mode you&apos;re in at the same time, which was a deal breaker for me. I simply don&apos;t understand the asinine decision to show the input name and volume level continuously instead of the most important piece of data - the surround codec that&apos;s being processed.<br><br>I just can&apos;t go back to Onkyo because of this, and it&apos;s a shame because I was a diehard fan. The 2027 models coming next year are not only hideous looking, they also don&apos;t fix this front display problem.<br><br>They also dropped the incredibly helpful IntelliVolume feature, and this was another factor that drove me to a Denon (the brand offers a system called &quot;Source Level,&quot; which works the same way as IntelliVolume).
