  Should it have closed? Will it ever reopen? Let me know your thoughts below! Mistakes have been made: apologies for my mispronunciations of some of the locations. Indeed, the Wicker Arches cross the River Don, not the Wicker. Such egregious errors have caused some demonstrative flouncing in the comments - thank you to the level headed folk for pointing out these errors and for being more forgiving.

  Thank you for continuing to make these films, I know they are a big time commitment for you and divert you from your family so appreciate the time and effort that you must have spent in researching, scripting, filming, narrating and editing it. <br><br>As always enjoyable and informative.

  Thank you for making this one. It was so silly to close this route. As with all the closures, no-one could apparently see beyond the end of their nose and realise as one industry declines, other things take their place and need to be moved by rail to get lorries off the roads, and centres of population expand, and the environmental pressures change. It was a pioneer, and now we need capacity and alternative routes when major overhauls happen, along with the GCML it connected to, it would have been just the thing...:(

  Unfortunately our politicians are blinkered and very short sighted when it comes to railways.<br>I will never understand that they cannot appreciate the massive effort and finance that went into the building of these railway routes.<br>Plus once closed, these lines never are reopened.<br>Thanks for yet another excellent video 😊😊

  This wonderful railway is thankfully remembered here with the archive footage. I wish I&apos;d seen it working. The unique traction, the line features, the industry and the locations live on. Thank you for putting this together.
