  I was in a relationship with a malignant narcissist—a sadist. I don't think I felt like that proverbial donkey. For a long time, I couldn't leave, even though I desperately wanted to; I never believed that life without him would be just as bad as life with him. Freedom from him seemed like paradise to me because I was living in hell. I couldn't leave because I was literally paralyzed by fear for my life. It took me six months to devise a very—and I mean *very*—precise escape plan to free myself from him forever (there was no other option; anything else would have been too dangerous), and even after I had the plan ready, I still couldn't bring myself to act for another two months because of the fear.

  I have been there. Questioning myself: should I stay trying to find solutions to the problems in the relationship with a very dysfunctional person or should I give up and leave. I decided to choose the way that would teach me something new, the way of learning something new about me and life, because gaining experience and knowledge is the path to evolve oneself. After 2 years I already knew about being in that relationship so I left to get new experiences and knowledge. One of the best choices of my life, if not the best ✌️
