Some 55 years later, I'm stunned at how clean these big Chryslers are compared to the GM and Fords at the time. Fuselage styling with loop bumpers and hideaway headlamps! It just doesn't get any better than this! ✨

My father bought a 71 300 new. The car was a special order and featured a power sun roof, console shifter and the U code 440 TNT. It was turquoise blue metalic with a white vinyl top and white interior. Gorgeous Car. We did a 2000 mile trip to Florida back late 71. My brother and I spent the time in the back seat and I never forgot the exhaust rumble, especially when Dad put is foot down to pass. Sadly he sold the car after a few years for smaller high end import and I was never able locate the car except one time when I saw it by chance at the Icelantic festival in Gimili Manitoba in 1986. Who ever owned the car knew they had something special as it had survived and was like new condition.

When my dad brought home a new 1970 Newport, everyone thought it looked so modern. Huge 4-door with a 383. I couldn't believe how fast that enormous car was. Floor it and your head snapped back. Just a great car.

My mother had a 71 Dodge Monaco Broham and the car was imposing with the wrap around bumpers and the 4dr hardtop windows down and dual exhaust with a 440.<br> The car was the dealer owners car fully loaded, my mother fell in love and she got a great deal on a 2500 mile car. She owned that car until it came in contact with a trash truck in 1985.
