I drove a '72 New Yorker for YEARS!! LOVED that car more than any other car I've owned since then!

I had a 72 New Yorker Brougham and a 73 Cadillac, both with leather interior. The Cadillac was nice but the New Yorker was much more comfortable to drive and had more options.

fender or hood mounted turn signals at Chrysler Corporation NEVER used GM-style “fiber optic” technology - the myriad styles offered over the years included individual electric bulbs and were offered on a much wider range of models than the GM or Ford types - the hood mounted style offered on the 1970 Plymouth Fury models were just one example

Dad had a 1970 New Yorker and a 1987 New Yorker Turbo. He (and I) loved them both.

My dad bought a 1972 New Yorker 4dr sedan in green brand new in Belgium. I seem to remember that about 6 of these cars were sold that year in the country. That car was driven all over Europe. I remember my dad driving on the autobahn at a pretty good clip. Same on the French autoroutes. A very comfortable and fast car with lots of room inside and a big trunk, the main reason my dad bought it. Parking it was another matter. It also attracted sometimes unwanted attention. Some people in Europe didn't like seeing such a large car and they made it known. My dad would just shrug it off.All in all, I remember the New Yorker very fondly. I thought it was a beautiful car.
