My great, great grandfather, James D. Rainer, 33rd Alabama, CSA, was killed in battle July 19, 1864, and was buried near where he fell somewhere along Peachtree Creek. He left behind a wife and seven children.

A director casting anyone but Jake Gillenhall to play Hood is commiting a crime against both Art and History.

Southern Generals in particular loved En Echelon attacks. They seldom worked.

AoC used Casey's infantry tactics and could always be counted on to have depth in their brigade structure.

I appreciate the comprehensive animation. I had watched earlier parts with intewrruptions making it more difficult to see the battle in all of its scope

2:30 fascinating about the administrative and even psychological and emotional whip chain effect as one high-level promotion causes chain reactions all the way down the chain of command

This attack could’ve and should’ve but didn’t work because of Hardee. If he had closer control of his division he could’ve set in motion a complete rout, he didn’t do his job, the brigade commanders on the left did theirs.
