8 Stars on the US version of Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo is effectively "every opponent has SNK Boss Syndrome"

The AI in these games cheated like mad: Different frame data, input reading, damage augmented... It did everything in the book, but sometimes you could make it do dumb things.

Back in the day I once saw the CPU doing DeeJay's machinegun upper combo on the first battle and doing 100% damage. That was it. Game Over. Thanks for playing, insert another coin if you wanna keep playing.

As a kid, I actually found 8 stars easier than, say, 5 stars, because it basically means the AI goes ham on doing offense, which causes it to leave itself open a lot more. But that autofire on its grabs and jabs was always rough.

Seems like nothing the cpu does ever shows a combo meter. That machine gun punch would have at least said 3 hit combo, so all of those j.hk, c.hk were actually combos but it doesn't show a combo gauge for the cpu. They may not have ever programmed a combo meter for non-active opponents.
