  &apos;Out ridin&apos; fences&apos; is a term for ranch work, where a large ranch would have miles upon miles of fenceline, posts with strands of barbed wire, and the job consisting of inspection and repair of broken or loose strands. &nbsp;Hours and hours of lonely work, day after day, just a man, a horse, a few simple tools, a very lonesome existence. &nbsp;Like the person being described in the song.

  This is the music I grew up on. The Eagles were a great 70&apos;s band with so many hit songs. They were known for their great harmonies. &quot;Lyin’ Eyes&quot;, &quot;Take It Easy&quot;, &quot;Witchy Woman&quot;, &quot;Already Gone&quot;, &quot;Best of My Love&quot;, &quot;One Of These Nights&quot;, &quot;Take It To The Limit&quot;, &quot;Hotel California&quot;, &quot;New Kid In Town&quot; etc. Before they went solo they were the back up band for Linda Ronstadt. Linda recorded quite a few of their songs.

  Linda Ronstadt recorded Desperado at the request of Glen Frey and Don Henley. It became a huge hit for her and afterward a large hit for the Eagles, though they recorded &nbsp;it first. &nbsp;She has a live version from a concert December 1, 1978 that is incomparable. Her voice and the magnificent piano accompaniment of Don Grolnik. Well worth your time.

  Don&apos;t worry about spending &quot;too much&quot; time alone. Some of us need it more than others and it benefits our mental health. I&apos;m practically a hermit, a creative hermit, but I&apos;m not lonely. I have a wonderful group of long term friends &nbsp;and we keep in touch over the phone several times a week. <br>It&apos;s truly a blessing to be content with your own company.
