  I used to watch those races religiously, back in the 80&apos;s.... I only got to see one in person once.. It was nothing like the races we have today. Everyone was still figuring all this stuff out. It was friggin epic.

  I remember as a child going to every single race that came to the Detroit river..... We look forward to every practice and Race.. &nbsp; Would absolutely love to be able to bring my kids to races like this again

  My girlfriend’s father George Stratton had many a good battle against Miss Budweiser and Dave Villwock in the Appian Jeronimo. He passed racing in the San Diego bay fair 2000. The last death to happen in Unlimited Hydroplanes. Wish we had more clips of those later years of the history here.<br><br>John Walters actually recently released a book covering a deep bit of hydroplane racing as well that was a good read for those interested. He is still involved with H1 to this day.

  In Midway&apos;s &quot;Hydro Thunder&quot; (1999) there was a boat called &quot;Miss Behave&quot; I didn&apos;t look particularly similar, but here&apos;s the description: &quot;Built from reclaimed World War II airplane parts, Miss Behave can hold her own against any boat in the league while in the air, even rivaling that of the Expert class. On the water though, she&apos;s a lot more grounded.&quot; It made airplane sounds when you boosted.
