  Thanks Guys, that was really interesting. My system is based round the subwoofers: 2500W Class D amp in the same huge box as the 18&quot; woofer. The Linkwitz-Riley 4th order crossovers at 150Hz and 2KHz. The mid amp and tweeter amps are class AB and really quite low power - only 50W each. The mid is the speaker that has to be the best designed - mine is an 8&quot; that is really clean in &nbsp;a 1 meter long heavy PVC tube - completely non-resonant. The tweeters are both ribbon that can be moved around independently to get best wavefront superimposition. The sub amp is DSP controlled - quite easy to set up to match the listening room and the sweet spot for my armchair! You don&apos;t hear 3 speakers. You hear a single coherent sound source. I&apos;ve stopped listening to my hifi - I just listen to the music!!

  Yes, we have compromises with inexpensive equipment,as the costs and quality are improving, obsolescence is baked in. But,improvements happen faster than the rates of failure. Today we consumers are also DIY ers. I’m interested in Guntar’s kits.

  How about do some listening comparison with the Class D amp as difference this can be easily tell even through the cheap desktop computer speakers.
