  I feel the Friends being black cats is meant to deliberately contrast with Toby Fox as a white dog.<br><br>If the God of this universe is a cute white Dog, then surely the character with a whole lot of fallen angel imagery having a pack of violent black cats is meant to make us think of Gaster as an opposing force to Toby.<br><br>Even despite Gaster having acted as a messenger for Toby (Via Twitter but still) much like how angels are messengers for God.<br><br>Gaster was the last &quot;angel&quot; and ended up banished to a pseudo-hell for likening himself to the developer, hence why all of this angelic symbolism.
