  I work for a major retailer in supply chain. We have seen 5 cost increases from suppliers of aluminum foil and are now beginning to face shortages.

  About 10 or more years ago Goldman-Sachs got into the commodities market and aluminum prices went up. Tariffs are hurting the US citizens and businesses.

  The US throws a billion dollars of aluminum in the trash every year. As though it weren't a material that could be recycled again and again for 4000 years.

  Canada dominates continental supply, producing roughly 82% of all primary aluminum in North America and 4th largest world supplier. The "Green" Advantage over all other suppliers: Canadian aluminum has the lowest carbon footprint among major producers. Approximately 96% of Canadian smelter energy comes from renewable hydroelectricity. Sounds like world needs our aluminum if usa don't want it.:)

  Chrystia, that was an excellent news story: the photography was just great, factories, shipping, aluminum products, and managers were shown,<br>and the interviewer didn&apos;t hog space in front of the camera! So I learned a lot, and would love to see more &quot;to the point&quot; productions.
