Drives me NUTS when people give a 59 to everyone. I don't need to see the meter. If I have to ask you to repeat yourself a few times you are clearly not a 59, so it would be something relative to how I'm hearing it. 34 or 44 depending. Honest reports help people understand how they are ACTUALLY being heard. Give as accurate report as possible, so the other person knows what their signal is truly coming through. The lowest report I've ever given is a 21. It was a struggle with lots of patience and repeating to make the contact.

Mike, I agree with your RST approach. I suspect the scale was created back when a lot of radios had no S meter, so guesstimation was required.

Love wants a signal report, gives me a “5-9” and has to ask for my call…..over and over!

Great explanation about signal reports Mike. What sounds like a 5/9 to one could sound like a 5/5 to another. But for this I trust my ears more than the S meter. Thanks for sharing !

Total newb, I figured the 9 came from the SWR meter but wasn't sure what the 5 was about. Now I know, thanks Mike. I think this is another thing that is so basic to an experienced HAM they forget to explain it to new people. Liked and subscribed.

A quick search show some people on Etsy have 3D printed mounts for the G90. Since that’s plastic, it would be easily adaptable to Lido mount or Ram Mount system. Which is like legos in which they have various options.
