  Thanks for opening my mind to this option. &nbsp;I never even considered a seperate receiver...as in the old days. &nbsp;Modern transceiver transmitters are all pretty much the same...100 watts...USB/LSB, CW, FM and the ability to do data with the proper PC interface. &nbsp;But...the magic happens (and the cost) is in the receiver...and for $250 USD I get the magic in a box the size of a pack of smokes. &nbsp;Thanks again and 73.

  I have the Sunsdr2 DX has HF/8/6/5/4/2M bands as my main radio but I have the N2EME, 0 to 450 MHz Rxin Rxout SDR Switch, on the IC7100 with SDR Console which is a great setup for the full HF/|VHF/UHF experience. <br>So for the last few years I have been using the SDR dongle and HF radio for the full experience, well done Colin.<br> I would never go back to the dx101, which has rubbish general coverage above 30Mhz.<br><br>I wish the airspy would cover above 30Mhz

  Hey Colin!<br>That&apos;s cool man! I&apos;ll give it a try. The advantage I see is for digital modes you already have the radio hooked up to the computer and all those kinds of softwares running, but now you can extend the capabilities of the computer/radio pair. <br>Thanks for sharing!<br>73 de SA5PEN

  Thanks for putting this together. The hardware and software keep getting better. The concept of a separate RX and TX is not new and was quite common 70 years ago. I have several vintage receivers and transmitters in storage. I spend most of my time currently on a QRP Labs QDX transceiver for JS8 and other FSK modes. It would be great to be able to use the QDX as a receiver then an SSB TX for voice. Again, thanks for the inspiration.

  I was doing this 10 years ago with an SDR play &amp; MFJ 1708 Switch with a 450d Yaesu.
