I started using progesterone 200mg rectally after listening to Felice on her channel. The packet says oral or vaginal, therefore I worked out rectally would be the same. And here in France I heard that rectal suppositories are used for lots of medicines- and noone throws up their hands i horror like the Brits😅 and I've also started cycling my progesterone and feel even better. Next consult with my french gyny I will ask for a blood test and also see if I can up my dose of estrogen from my 0.1 patch. Fascinating discussion. Thank you from a 71yr old who's been on HRT for 20 years, mostly oral, and I suspect for most of the 20 years the doses have been too low. Let's keep researching! And in running terms, Felipe is the GOAT! ❤❤ And just liked and subscribed.👍👍👍

Taking 100 mg progesterone orally made me so anxious I couldn’t stand it. Taking the pill vaginally works so much better for me. Those metabolites were really harmful to me.

Thanks for all the info! Have been doing cyclical bio-identical compounded creams (estradiol and progesterone) for nearly two years… I’m 58, went into menopause at 50, and now have my period again. As Dr Gersh said, it’s a small price to pay. I feel 25 again! The only thing I’m working out is weight gain… looking at low T levels but it will ba worked out and I highly recommend! We’re all bio-individual and must test levels and find what’s works. Blessings💗

I think 200 mg of continuous Micronized Progesterone is at least as common as 100 mg, partly in an attempt to “balance” higher estradiol levels (which is a disputed need according to research from Newson Clinic). Additionally, there are also a lot of (mostly perimenopausal) women doing much much higher doses that swear by it in at least one Facebook group that has over 50K members. I never went down that road, I follow Dr. Gersh’s cyclic protocol.

I believe that it is misleading, maybe even unethical, to call oral micronized progesterone (OMP) "bioidentical." My experience on OMP was very similar to taking a benzodiazepine: gradually increasing fatigue and cognitive problems over several months until I was secretly very concerned that I was developing dementia. Once I connected this as a possible side effect of OMP, I quit taking it and gradually got my brain back, like I had to de-tox from the buildup of allopregnanolone or whatever metabolites were still in my system. Cycling the doses might help, but it was so frightening before, I hesitate to take it again at all.

I'm so grateful for people like Dr. Gersh who are willing to adjust their ideas and protocols based on listening to women and seeking more data! This is how science is supposed to work, not on "settled consensus."

It would be so nice if Dutch could do a separate video on progesterone for the many women who are intolerant and have a paradoxical response to OMP. Please consider it and thank you!

It makes me feel so anxious and keeps me awake and feel awful. It dos the opposite for me. I don’t feel relaxed at all. I feel the opposite
