  As someone who&apos;s been writing songs like crazy for a while now since graduating college last Christmas with my art degree when I&apos;m not animating and doing character work, this video preaches so much truth! <br><br><br>As a musician, I always like putting my feelings and thoughts into words, then figure out the composition, melody etc to go with that along with the rhythm along with my singing vocals, since when I have a big idea whether I&apos;m animating, doing character work via voiceover, or singing, tone and intent is always my number one priority.<br><br>Great video Sam!

  I&apos;m not a comment on youtube videos type, but - its refreshing to find something that&apos;s not the Nashville music factory approach. &nbsp;I follow the same process - make the song &gt; mumble a rhythm (WHILE PLAYING!) &gt; some of the mumbles sound like actual words, or might BE actual words &gt; go from there. &nbsp;In the last few years, intentionally mapping the melody (piano roll, guitar whatever, DAW helps but not needed) has been a huge help in making the mumblemelodies stronger during/before the words take shape. &nbsp;I have done the venn diagram phrasing multiple times too!<br><br>I expect this process is common for folks that are players first - lyrics and singing are almost a necessary evil over the Actually Important bit of the instrumentation.
