The 70s were a disgusting time in England for innocents being fitted up for murders they didn't do. Not just the Irish (Guildford, Birmingham, M62 bombing) but English people too, usually the mentally impaired who were easily bullied into false confessions without a solicitor present. What kind of cop would prioritise any conviction over the right conviction?

Pete Postlethwaite ♥️ unreal actor. I once heard somebody say having him in your film is like a cheat code

This is the most scariest situation anyone can be in, to live in prison and be in the judicial system.

The scene with the noises and wrapping the cassette round his face is " SOMETIMES WORDS DON'T MEAN ANYTHING "

Oscar Wilde's Ballad of Reading Jail is a deeply felt description of the hell his prison was and how prisoners suffered mental trauma

Amazing film so sad what them and the Birmingham six went through innocent people who probably never recovered from the experience, scapegoats really , great one to show Emma Thomson and Daniel day Lewis brilliant in it .

The first time I saw this was in Canterbury prison & this was before you was allowed TVs in your cell but every night the screws would put a film on in the TV room, really surprised they chose this one, great film though.<br>Actually now I think about it there wasn't a TV room it was just put on a TV down on the ones and anyone who wanted could pull up a seat
