  What can I say other than wow and thank you ! This is my Walkman. Purchased with my pocket money when I was 15 from that famous catalogue store and cared for like nothing else until 3 years ago I put in a Panasonic zinc battery and forgot about it . I left it under my hifi cabinet and stumbled across it this year to find a leaky battery . The rest, well you can see for yourself !   Mark, the way you smile about problems and mistakes has really helped me re orient my thinking. I suffer from anger and see you smile your way through fiddly frustrating tasks has inspired me to smile at my own troubles

  Having seen many tape deck repairs on this channel and how bulky and complex their tape mechanisms are; it gives me an awestruck appreciation for what an engineering masterpiece the Sony Walkman really is. And it runs off 1.5v with decent battery life, too.

  There are not many people in the world who would be brave enough to attempt this repair!  The merger of plastic and metal mechanical components with the electronics is insane in this piece of equipment!  But you did it…. BRAVO!

  If there would be a real Starship Enterprise and the board engineer would not have been found yet, you were the perfect "Scotty" and nobody else! My greatest respect for both the technical and the human abilities!

  I just stumbled upon your channel today and have been binge watching your videos. Your skills are extraordinary but what really makes you stand out is your upbeat and cheerful personality. You have such a great attitude even when confronted with really difficult repairs.

  I used to work on those every day at a Sony dealership repair center in the 80's. Sony wrote very good service manuals. Mostly worked on dictating portables but same stuff inside. Minicassette machines were even smaller. Like a watch inside. We worked on anything Sony made using audio tape. It made sense to repair back then as expensive as the machines were. Good memories.
