  The Maldives and Bali/Indonesia is heart breaking to see, A good 30 years ago I travelled through Indonesia from Lombok to Komodo Island on a local fishing boat and witnessed some real horrors from dynamite fishing to island beaches covered in rubbish, such beautiful places should be protected at all costs!

  I still remember watching deadly 60 as a kid, it was the coolest show I've watched, and Steve made it even cooler. I remember watching him dive with some of the most amazing animals in the world. It has inspired my love of animals and still watch it now.

  Used to race home from school to watch D60, now I’m a 35 year old dad showing my little’n these videos on a sunny afternoon in Newcastle.  Entertaining generations SB 😆.  My best regards to you and yours

  In the Seychelles we have a female hawksbill turtle with a figure 8 shaped shell because she was stuck inside of a plastic ring from a 6-pack of beer cans for so long that her shell was deformed as a result. One of my colleagues rescued her years ago by cutting her free - to this day she's always very curious and appreciative of humans whenever we see her.

  I was Captain of a ship working off Myanmar and we came across two turtles caught in the remnants of a net - we launched our Fast Recue Craft and cut them free - one turtle had sustained quite a lot of damage ( deep cut ) to its front leg - when we released them they both did circles around the vessel for about 20 minutes as an almost ' thank you ' - it was a wonderful emotional sight and feeling but you wonder about all the other marine creatures stuck out there that were not so lucky. Well done Steve for bringing this to the attention of all

  I love Steve's work. He comes across as such a humble guy and has that almost child-like enthusiasm for natural wonders but is also hugely knowledgeable and always so respectful of the animals he films. The question I have though, given his conclusion that there is no safe way to dive with crocodiles, is whether he ever worries about pushing his luck too far? Is it a trade off between playing the odds and the urge to experience and share these unique encounters?
