“One of the biggest challenges facing the church is not persecution, but compromise”. Yes. Soberingly yes.

I remember when Sunday school started phasing out of churches in the late 90's--it seemed somewhat good as busy-ness was a huge issue for families. At that time, I volunteered in Children's Church and saw how curriculum could be completely missing the point of learning the important things of our faith. One time when I asked my kids what they learned, all they could recall was a story about a dog! Not only do we parents have to slow down and commit to teaching our children ourselves but churches need to not miss the amazing opportunity to teach the foundations of the Bible and Gospel as well. Help us, Lord!

If 45% of "professing Christians" believe Jesus rose from the dead, then the 55% are not Christian. Period. Pretty simple. It doesn't matter what one "professes" if they don't believe what God says.

Many of these questions are what actually proves a person is a true Christian.

The whole Bible is an essential doctrine!

This is a great discussion. One of the problems I’ve noticed within the church culture is a lack of discipleship. Spiritual disciplines are so important in getting new believers equipped and laying down foundational knowledge.

Getting rid of worldly phrase," agree to disagree" the leads to compromise

We can all agree there are non-essential beliefs, but everyone holds their own beliefs as essential... so there's that.

When it comes to surveys, everyone really, really needs to know and understand that the percentages are of those SURVEYED.

My Church was advertising classes on How to hear the voice of God, How to interpret Dreams and How to Prophecy. I started to feel like Something was wrong with this and was searching the Scriptures and reading in the Book of 1 Corinthians Ch 12:1-11, and a particular verse was like an arrow that pierced me through the heart, which was verse 11, which states, “ But all these worketh that one and the Selfsame Spirit, dividing (distributing) to every man Individually, AS HE WILLS.” Those final 3 words was the Nail in the Coffin of what convinced me that “The Gifts of the Holy Spirit, were not a SKILLSET that could be Taught by man, and that Not Every person is Given the Same Spiritual Gift, but that God gives to Each Person, in the Body of Christ, Spiritual Gifts, AS HE WILLS.
Then, after they held their “Hear the voice of God Class” ( I did not attend the class) but I returned to the Sunday service the following Sunday to hear what they would say following their Class. The Pastor of the Church made the announcement that EVERYONE that attended their “How To” class, ALL PROPHESIED, but made NO STATEMENTS about WHAT THOSE SUPPOSED PROPHESIES WERE, For what PURPOSE they were given, and TO WHOM those SUPPOSEDLY GIVEN.
It was like a Siren went off in my head saying, get out of this place and don’t look back! I was very sad, because initially, this church APPEARED TO BE, So Christ Centered especially during Worship, but as time went by, it started to appear SELF CENTERED and that anyone who did not have PUBLIC SHOW of Walking in the Spiritual Gifts or who Didn’t Repeat after they held their Pastor various words, which every time he’d preach a sermon, he would constantly say “ Say this to your neighbor, or Repeat this word” It started to feel like a form of Brain washing or Hypnosis, and I started to become very unsettled in my Spirit. That is when I decided to Leave that church. I am currently just Studying my Bible at home for the very reason that I cannot find a church in my area, that is Not Deviating from Biblical teaching, Somewhere. I know that the Bible States to “Not forsake the assembling”. I have been struggling with this delemma for years, and keep Church hopping, hoping to find that FAITHFUL CHRISTIAN ASSEMBLY, but I keep running into this problem. Does ANY Christian have this same problem who is watching this video that can give me advice on this matter? What should I do to obey the command of assembling if I can’t find a church in my area that is teaching real biblical truth. They are either Seeker friendly, Ecumenical and Interfaith, forcing their Members to Sign “Membership Contracts” and Commanding Tithing promises from Members or be Separated from the Church body as Only a “Communal Member” with no rights to participate in any Church activities, creating a Schism in the body of Christ. The list of Falsehoods being taught BY THE PASTORS and ELDERS goes on and on, so how can I Obey God to not FORSAKE the ASSEMBLING? With whom shall I Assemble, a Bunch of Hirlings or Wolves in Sheep’s Clothing? Anyone here having this issue? Thank you?

Based on the stats you are sharing in the beginning I think to myself, who are the Christians calling themselves Christians but not understanding the Bible. I suspect they are Christians with such a worldview, they don’t even realize it. Gotta get back into the verse by verse teaching! It sure has helped me.

I dont understand why we keep refering to a group of people as "progressive christians"? They arent Christians. So why still call them Christians? Gnostics were not called Christians, same logic.
