My aunt met her a few times at baronscourt estate in n. Ireland while working there. Said she was a lovely woman and very down to earth.

The Queen Mother always looked genuinley delighted and interested in meeting people, to admire the flowers handed to her, and I still miss her. She was born the same year as my father.

Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes-Lyon. August 4, 1900 - March 30, 2002 (aged 101). She was the Empress of India from December 11, 1936 to August 15, 1947. More notably, she was the Queen of the United Kingdom from December 11, 1936 to February 6, 1952, being crowned on May 12, 1937. Ms. Bowes-Lyon had 2 daughters, Elizabeth II & Princess Margaret, the Countess of Snowdon. Ms. Bowes-Lyon was the daughter of Claude George Bowes-Lyon, the Earl of Strathmore & Kinghorne, & Cecilia Nina Cavendish-Bentinck, the Countess of Stratmore & Kinghorne.

I saw another documentary that spoke of the amount of debt she accrued. She was great for so long and them she just became a spendthrift. She eventually became worse than the Windsors
