  I think the Queen Mother was a super selfish, purposefully unaware person who thought she was better than most other people. Her amazing daughter, Queen Elizabeth II was the opposite of her mother and much more like her father. So much honor and respect for Queen Elizabeth.

  Fun fact: the Queen Mother was a descendant of Mary Boleyn, sister of Anne Boleyn. Hence, Mary Boleyn&apos;s descendants now sit on the throne of the UK.

  i will never forget her visit to my school in the late 80’s and she touched my head. My mother thought I was blessed 😂

  The Queen Mother Queen Elizabeth Bowes Lyon was one of the three people who held Britain together during WW2. The other two being her husband and Sir Winston Churchill. Linda Hennessy

  She was a good wife for Bertie &nbsp;- a shy man &amp;, as the saying goes, she was tough as old boots. &nbsp;I’m sure that was what was needed during wartime. &nbsp;But she was human &amp; had her flaws. Sadly, she was widowed too young. &nbsp;Bertie was a heavy smoker &amp; although the Queen Mother blamed the Duke of Windsor for Bertie’s early death - the smoking was a big factor.

  I was in England when the Queen Mother&apos;s 90th Birthday. &nbsp;I remember the amazing fireworks by the HMS Britannia which was moored by The Tower Bridge. &nbsp;We had dinner by St. Katherine&apos;s Wharf. &nbsp;What a wonderful celebration.
