  How anyone can stand there after the promotion ceremony, during the applause, and not be beaming from ear to ear is beyond me. I'm retired Army, and right after I got SGT, I couldn't help but beam.

  Although this video just dropped this video it’s at least 10 years old as the blue camo was phased out in 2016 and some other information can back that up

  I joined the Navy in 1973. I served for 22 years. I loved every day. I was a CTO. &nbsp;I made E4 in 1974, E5 in 1976, E6 in 1979 and CTOC in 1982 with 8 years service. I was selected for CWO2 at 14 years and was early selected for W2 and W4. I was mentored by some great Chiefs. A lot of people I led made &nbsp;Master Chief Warrant and LDO. &nbsp;that’s my legacy. Being INITIATED in 1982 was the best thing that ever happed to me n my career.

  As a former Naval Aviator and Division Officer [Strike pilot], find this vid extremely important to recognize the value US Navy CPOs.<br> <br>From first hand experience - - 
unequivocally, &nbsp;CPOs make EVERYTHING HAPPEN. &nbsp;
<br>Most civilians see the ‘sexy aircraft launch/recoveries’; however, without question CPOs and junior sailors are the actual &nbsp;backbone, everyday HEROs for operational support and function.
<br><br>IMHO, the core of Naval Aviation 100% depends on CPOs leadership and their extraordinary sacrifices. &nbsp;
Even further, Master Chiefs ensure &nbsp;overall success and truly &nbsp;RUN ALL &nbsp;Naval operations.<br><br>To any CPOs, Mstr Chiefs reading…much respect, many thanks! &nbsp;🫡

  What it took for me to become a U.S. Navy Chief was to simply reenlist.<br><br>I was a nuclear power trained Electrician’s Mate on a US Navy fast attack submarine. &nbsp;I entered the Navy in 1978 as an E-3 and spent the first two years undergoing the nuclear power training. &nbsp;Upon graduating Electrician’s Mate ‘A’ school in October of 1978, I was promoted to E-4. &nbsp;I successfully completed the nuclear power training (Class of 7904) in January 1980 and reported to my submarine and was promoted to E-5 (NEC 3354). &nbsp;In 1983, I was promoted to E-6 with an NEC of 3364 (Submarine Nuclear Propulsion Plant Supervisor - Electrical). &nbsp;My enlistment ended in March, 1984. &nbsp;Had I reenlisted at that time, I would have been promoted to E-7 in 1986.<br><br>During this timeframe, nuclear power trained electrician mates were grouped with all electrician mates in the Navy. &nbsp;There was no separate rating for nuke EM/IC, ET and MM ratings as there is now (the nuke IC rating was phased out later). &nbsp;Due to the high test scores and performance ratings nuclear trained electrician mates received, we were always promoted as soon as we made time in rate. &nbsp;The only way a nuclear trained EM did not make CPO at the 7-8 year point was if they had disciplinary actions on their record.<br><br>Now nukes have their own rates of EMN, ETN and MMN, so it is probably much harder to make E-7.
