To quote Chuck Jones: "Bugs is who we want to be,Daffy is who we are."

My favorite bit is where Bugs and Daffy disguise themselves as each other, and genius voice actor Mel Blanc does distinctively different, but spot on, voices of Daffy imitating Bugs, and Bugs imitating Daffy.

I can speak from personal experience that the “Rabbit season!” “Duck season!” works in real life. My father pulled it on me during a conversation we were having and I fell for it.
More than once.
Over several years.

I’m not proud of that.

When my daughter Sofie was 13, we were eating at Friday’s. She looked around, and said, "That TV has tennis, and that one has baseball, and that one has football."

I said, "It's not even football season. You know what season it is?"

Sofie said, "What?"

Me: Duck season.

Sofie: Rabbit season.

Me: Duck season.

Sofie: Rabbit season.

Ah…train them up in the way they should go…

Daffy stealing Porky's crown just for it to land on Bugs head is actually perfect.

In a way, all the different directorial depictions of the Looney Tunes cast have kinda resulted in the characters feeling more 3D dimensional than they were probably originally envisioned. It’s like you’re seeing different sides of the characters when they’re in a certain mood.

My brother once refered to screwball era Daffy as "before he got therapy". I think that says something about society; being greedy and selfish is more normal than leaping about being silly.

Another great moment is where Daffy, confused, says "let's run through that again," and he and Bugs repeat a sequence of dialog, marking rather than acting full out. Stage actors would be able to do that.

Daffy playing the straight man changed the game, for sure

12:45 'Pronoun trouble' even 50 years later, for me, the most memorable line in Looney Tunes history.
