  I enjoyed the bit about films and cameras at the end. Before I got my first Digital camera (a 3MPIxel Canon that cost £400) I once connected our camcorder to a TV capture card to add a couple of photos to an email on Christmas day. That was 1999 or later too.

  I love this channel mate, lots of memories and nostalgia for us Gen X that grew up in UK between late 70s into early 90s. Sadly all these things gone now.<br><br>I saw a Danish guy here on YouTube yesterday with a full 80s Denon set up, all working, all in great condition. I remember how separates like that looked futuristic once. Then I realised it was all kind of redundant now, as great as the set up was. All you need is a phone and a set of powered speakers such as Edifier ones and it will do everything that huge Denon set up does.

  As a Gen-Xer now in my early 50s living in the U.S., part of me still lives &quot;Retro-Tech!&quot; Still have an old JVC tube TV as a hand-me-down from my former elderly neighbor, still got an extensive physical CD and DVD collection as well as my vinyl records and some cassettes both audio and VHS. &nbsp;Alhough I definitely miss enjoying a Friday night at Blockbuster Videos, I can still get that feeling at my local library where I can rent DVDs for free! &nbsp;I&apos;m going to re-invest in both a stereo stacking system with record player as well as a VHS/DVD hybrid player. &nbsp;Although many of the electronic stores in the States are no more, we still have a survivor called Best Buy and I love going there to browse tech...in fact, I&apos;m going to buy a desktop all-in-one &nbsp;multiplaying stereo system by a brand called Victrola soon! &nbsp;These days, I have a desire to return to Retro-Tech and I&apos;m glad to see Gen-Z&apos;s fascination in discovering physical media for the first time in their lives!!

  I remember Teletext, I really enjoyed reading Digitiser on it. The wonderful sense of humour that Mr Biffo had absolutely and permanently changed my own sense of humour. Paul Rose.....damn you you glorious buffoon.<br>But Britannia brings back memories, not going to lie. They did good deals on CDs and DVDs, but those sneaky discs they sent you of the recommended music was not enjoyed. I found out, eventually, you could opt out but I did end up with a lot of music that was absolutely pants. <br>I do hope your mum is doing better now.

  Great memories of all these adverts. Dixons was my dads favourite shop, he could spend hours in there...🤣. I remember we got our first family video player in the 1980&apos;s , mum and dad could only afford it if we all had it as our main Christmas present, so me and my brother were happy with that. It was an amazing few days of enjoying a video player until mum and dad out of the blue got a chance to buy the house we rented and they needed all the money they could get so with much moaning whinging and upset me and Mark had to watch the newly purchased video player be taken back to the shop...😭...It was years till we got another!!! Worth the wait though as we could record so many cool films and programmes.😊👍

  I must be careful as nostalgia can be a trap, but I could watch stuff like this for hours on end. Cheers, Steve!<br>I think I&apos;m one of the few whose memories of Amstrad products weren&apos;t disappointing - genuinely loved my CPC 464 (and that&apos;s one I&apos;d argue was actually a quality product), and the 14&quot; Amstrad portable TV we had, that I eventually took as my own for my Mega Drive, then Amiga, was entirely adequate. My first CD player (that was just mine, and not my parents&apos;) was an Amstrad boombox - that&apos;s the one I have doubts about. It worked, but my doubt in recent years has been that maybe I just didn&apos;t know what I was listening for (ignorance is bliss?). I&apos;ve had a saved eBay search for quite some time I really want to buy one to hear it now, with my much greater developed faculties, and answer those lingering questions.

  I was probably a bit too young to remember most of these adverts 🙈 (I&apos;m 36 now) <br><br>however I distinctly remember owning a portable cassette player and loads of cassettes and I remember recording stuff on my cassettes with my friend, even recording silly things with our voices, gutted I lost those a long time ago 😂 <br><br>and of course I remember recording some of my fave things on VHS whenever I was allowed 😅<br><br>and of course I have memories of Teletext and messing around with it as a kid when I was bored, <br><br>aand I fondly remember blockbuster and going to pick out something with my friends, or with my family and getting allowed to pick out a video or two, <br><br>so I would often pick out the bumper editions of Tom and jerry or scooby doo because to my parents it still counted as one 😂 <br><br>(or at least I convinced or argued that was the case and mum gave in lmao I can&apos;t recall my tactics 🙈 )<br><br>not to mention always hoping we would get the popcorn as well 😂
