  40 years ago I took a boat trip to the floating market just upriver from Wat Arun. Went in the afternoon when it was very very peaceful, stopped off at the royal barges and Wat Arun. Magical day away from the crowds...

  Been there.It&apos;s a tourist trap.Didn&apos;t buy anything.<br>Saw a lady on a boat coming our way with food,so we asked our boat driver to stop and ask for food.She opened up her pot and about 50 flies flew out.<br>She had the nerve to get upset when we turned her down.<br>I&apos;m still glad we went,because it was an experience,but i&apos;ll probably never go there again.

  As a local, it&apos;s a worth a trip out there if you drive. &nbsp;You get that nostalgia of Thailand&apos;s busy floating markets from 30 years ago. &nbsp;I used to enjoy the boat noodles for only 3 THB on the way home from school at a small canal near the Victory Monument area. &nbsp;That used to be a common thing across Bangkok, but the traditional floating markets have been significantly reduced over time.

  I&apos;ve been to that floating market twice, it&apos;s great fun, there&apos;s tourist traps everywhere you go, there&apos;s no pressure to buy, just say &apos;no thankyou&apos;.

  Your boat driver will usually stop at his family’s stalls, they don’t drop the price. Because they work as a family they know each others prices and won’t drop the price.This was on Thai news about 6 months ago, they talked about the over priced products. The Main Street of the market is nice. But the rest of the place is a little boring. This tour usually includes the train market which is more reasonably priced and you can negotiate at the train market. Should have mention that in this video as it’s usually the same day tour most tourist take.

  Dual pricing is everywhere inSEAsia. Even to the extent of restaurants with local language and English menus with two entirely different prices .
